According to the data of the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur), Germany's new photovoltaic capacity in June continued to maintain a monthly GW installation scale, reaching 1.047GW, which made its total photovoltaic installed capacity in the first half of 2023 increase to 6.26GW.

Among them, Bavaria will have the fastest installed capacity growth in the first half of 2023, reaching 1.608 GW; followed by the western state North Rhine-Westphalia with 971.3 MW, and the southern state Baden-Württemberg with 832.7 MW.

Bundesnetzagentur predicts that if Germany continues to maintain this level of growth, the country's annual installed capacity may reach around 12GW this year, which will be far higher than the German government's 2023 target of 9GW.

It is worth mentioning that in the installed capacity of renewable energy in Germany, solar energy also saw the largest growth in the first half of the year; in addition, onshore wind power contributed 1.33 GW, offshore wind power contributed 228.6 MW, and biomass contributed 22.6 MW.
